Established in 2016, NovaSight is a growing medical device company with a mission to prevent vision impairments among pediatric patients using eye tracking based technology in novel diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive solutions, especially designed for the unique needs of children.
NovaSight offers two flagship products both ideally positioned for objective diagnostics and remote home treatment:
The CureSight™ amblyopia treatment system is designed to replace the traditional eye patching. The treatment is carried out while the child watches any content of choice while the image undergoes real-time image processing according to the momentary gaze position that suppresses the strong eye and ‘trains’ the amblyopic eye. Perfectly positioned for telehealth, it treats children from the comfort of home under the remote cloud supervision of the physician who can also monitor progress and adherence.
NovaSight has conducted a multi-center pivotal trial that compared the improvement in visual outcomes achieved by CureSight versus the eye patch. This is the first ever trial where a digital device was shown to be NON-INFERIOR to eye patching for amblyopia treatment in children with a larger improvement in BCVA in the treatment group at week 16.
Also, a significant stereo acuity improvement was observed in both groups. No serious adverse events were observed in either treatment arms and all non-serious adverse events were transient and self-limiting.
The study also exhibited 93% adherence to the CureSight treatment as was accurately measured by the eye-tracking system of the device, as well as 95% likelihood of the parents to choose CureSight over patching.
The second flagship product is the EyeSwift®PRO – an eye tracking-based vision assessment device that screens for vision impairments. It can be used by any trained individual and requires minimal patient cooperation.
The EyeSwiftPro tests are grouped into automated ‘protocols’ with each running it’s unitary tests that are of clinical relevance to that protocol. At the end of each protocol, an easily understood report is created.
NovaSight is also developing TrackSight™, a software as a service (SaaS) solution for myopia prevention and visual health monitoring running on laptops and tablets used by children for both educational and leisure purposes.
Myopia prevention is achieved by real-time peripheral blur on the user’s screen according to the momentary gaze position. Eye fatigue monitoring is performed in real-time with on screen alerts. The software also incorporates a periodic assessment of computer vision quality, myopia progression, and reading analysis.
