Keranova’s new surgical advances are based on active wavefront modification of the treatment laser beam that brings several advantages over the current generation systems. Multiple identical focused laser spots and shaped focused beams can be created in the tissue to speed up procedures and enable new methods of surgery. The focused laser spots can also be optimized for incision quality by precompensating for patient and system aberrations at a given tissue location. In addition, the system has the unique ability to determine laser thresholds energies at specific locations in the tissue and to dynamically adjust laser energy to optimize incision quality and minimize gas production, which increases surgical speed and efficiency.
